The public welfare event Keeping Up with Champions was held on September 29 at the GAC Technology Museum in Nansha District, Guangzhou. The event was guided by the Sports Bureau of Guangdong Province and organized by the Physical Foundation of Guangdong. As an outstanding representative of state-owned enterprises in Guangdong, GAC Group actively fulfilled its corporate social responsibility by participating in various public welfare programs. It collaborated with Guangdong-based Olympic champions in an event that seamlessly integrated technology and sports, contributing to the development of Guangdong's sports industry and the construction of a leading sports nation with GAC’s influence.

The Guangdong-based champions Quan Hongchan, Xie Siyi, Chen Yiwen, Chen Qingchen, Wang Liuyi, and Wang Qianyi, along with the Chinese sports delegation and relevant coaches from Guangdong, were invited to the event. The event also welcomed leaders from the Sports Bureau of Guangdong Province, the Guangdong Ersha Sports Training Center, the Physical Foundation of Guangdong, GAC Group, GAC Motor, and AION, as well as media representatives, totaling approximately 100 guests.

GAC presented 10 cars, including the second generation AION V and GAC Motor E8, to the champions and coaches at the event.

At the Paris 2024 Olympics this summer, China's sports delegation made relentless efforts and achieved exceptional results. The Guangdong delegation won 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals, setting a new record for Guangdong athletes in the Olympics. Their total medal count, including gold medals, ranked first among all provinces and cities in China. The Guangdong delegation made a significant contribution to the success of China's sports delegation and brought great honor to Guangdong Province.

As a representative of Guangdong's state-owned enterprises, GAC Group actively participates in the public welfare activities of the Sports Bureau of Guangdong Province and supports national sports initiatives. Since 2012, GAC has continued the tradition of gifting cars to Olympic champions from Guangdong. The car-presenting program was announced during the Paris 2024 Olympics. GAC also invited the champions to visit the GAC Technology Museum, based on their schedules and the organizer's arrangements, before the National Day. This visit aimed to showcase the latest achievements of Guangdong's automobile industry and to celebrate the nation’s birthday together. As planned, GAC Group gifted one unit of the second generation AION V to each of the 6 champion athletes and one unit of GAC Motor E8 to each of the 4 coaches, honoring the power of role models.

After the event, the leaders of the Sports Bureau, along with the champions and coaches, visited GAC's green intelligent vehicle-home technology. This innovative system integrates GAC's energy management and intelligent connectivity technologies. It enables mutual interaction between intelligent vehicles and smart homes, promoting energy savings and carbon reduction.

 

The Physical Foundation of Guangdong awards the title of Public Welfare Cooperation Unit to GAC Group

 

Under the witness of the champions and coaches, Cui Jian, on behalf of the Sports Bureau of Guangdong Province, awarded the title of Public Welfare Cooperation Unit to Zeng Qinghong, Chairman of GAC Group.

 

In the future, GAC Group will continue to give back to society through its CSR practices and participation in a wide range of public welfare events. This will contribute the power of a state-owned enterprise to building a harmonious society and advancing the sports industry.
